Building the Partnerships That Power Sustainable Impact

Why This Work Matters

Strong partnerships don’t happen by chance. They require strategic alignment, credible positioning, and thoughtful design. I work at the intersection of business and social change — helping each side understand the incentives, language, and realities of the other — so that partnerships create lasting value for both.

Ways I can help For Businesses

Advance Your Social Impact With Strategic Clarity and Credibility

Today’s companies are expected to deliver more than financial returns. But many struggle with fragmented initiatives, unclear positioning, or partnerships that don’t fully leverage their core business strengths.

I help companies design, refine, or troubleshoot social impact strategies that are credible, commercially aligned, and built to endure.

What I Deliver

Strategic Landscape Mapping & Analysis
Deep analysis of the issue ecosystem, stakeholder landscape, peer positioning, policy environment, and partnership terrain — so decisions are informed, not reactive.

Impact Strategy Design & Refinement
Clear strategic architecture that aligns business objectives, brand positioning, employee engagement, and measurable social outcomes.

Corporate Positioning & Storytelling
Sharper narrative frameworks that articulate why your company is uniquely positioned to lead — with authenticity and authority.

Partnership Strategy & Development
Identification, cultivation, and structuring of nonprofit, multilateral, and cross-sector partnerships that generate real impact and long-term reputational value.

Troubleshooting & Course Correction
Independent assessment of what’s working, what’s not, and how to recalibrate for credibility, coherence, and impact.

The Result:
A social impact platform that strengthens brand trust, unlocks new influence, and delivers durable outcomes — not just activity.

For Nonprofits

Building the Partnerships That Sustain and Scale Your Mission

Many nonprofits have powerful missions but lack a structured approach to corporate engagement and resource mobilization. Partnerships can feel opportunistic instead of strategic — leaving impact and revenue on the table.

I help organizations design partnership strategies that generate funding, visibility, and long-term sustainability — without compromising mission integrity.

What I Deliver

Strategic Partnership Landscape Analysis
Mapping of corporate priorities, ESG trends, industry movements, and funding ecosystems to identify aligned opportunity spaces.

Corporate Targeting & Opportunity Identification
Curated recommendations of companies and sectors where mission alignment and commercial logic intersect.

Partnership & Revenue Strategy Design
Structured frameworks for engagement — from sponsorship to multi-year strategic alliances — designed to drive both impact and unrestricted or catalytic funding.

Positioning & Value Proposition Development
Clear articulation of your organization’s unique value to corporate partners — translating mission into strategic relevance.

Executive Advisory & Deal Support
Guidance on structuring, negotiating, and stewarding partnerships that strengthen both mission impact and financial resilience.

The Result:
A sustainable partnership engine — not one-off transactions.

About Us

Ilze Melngailis designs the strategies and partnerships that make impact durable.

She works at the intersection of business and social change—helping corporations build credible, strategically aligned impact platforms, and helping nonprofits construct partnership engines that sustain and scale mission.

Her career has been defined by building what didn’t yet exist. From founding Latvia’s first family planning NGO after independence, to architecting multi-million-dollar public–private partnerships across global health and gender equality, to forming an cross-industry alliance to fight the threat of antimicrobial resistance, Ilze has consistently turned ambition into structured collaboration. At the United Nations Foundation, she transformed the Business Council for the UN into a trusted bridge between multinational companies and global institutions—doubling membership, tripling revenue, and mobilizing significant investment in collective action.

What differentiates Ilze is not just access or experience. It is her ability to see the full ecosystem—how incentives align, where credibility is earned, how stakeholders perceive one another, and what it takes to move from transactional engagement to lasting partnership.

She has worked in more than 30 countries and brings a global vantage point shaped by both entrepreneurial and institutional leadership. Ilze holds an MBA from Yale School of Management and believes well-designed collaboration can accelerate progress far beyond what any single actor can achieve alone.

Today, she advises leaders who understand that impact is not peripheral to strategy. It is strategy.
